Can I successfully move a broody hen?

If you want to move to a broody hen, good luck – all by way of saying, some, or even most, just won’t be moved and hurry back to the original nest the first chance they get – or go un-broody.

Out of 4 broodies, I was able to successfully move one – the one you can barely see in the brooder box back there.

Tips:

ONLY move a broody at night in the dark.

Do it as soon as possible (first night)

Don’t give her any hatching eggs until she stays where you can live with it.

Move her to a big enough and very safe space she cannot get out of.

After 2 days, it should be clear  whether she is serious about sitting and what place she is willing to accept.
